Hangover homemade cures

“A Ganpat, chal daaru la”. Well, Ganpat won’t have a problem obeying that, but the hangover that remains after the booze for the next day will surely be troublesome. The feeling of “I will puke if I eat anything today” is just so absurd. Well, nothing to worry – one glass of lime water and things will go back to normal. Isn’t that’s what you generally think? Actually, there are some hangovers whose intensity is high enough to beat the booze-busting elements of lime. But, don’t worry though. Here is a list of quick homemade hangover cures that you can easily stock up to give you the much needed day-after relief.

Tomato Juice

Once again, the tomatoes come to the rescue! This highly beneficial fruit-cum-vegetable is one of the best ways to get your glucose levels up and running. A high intake of alcohol generally leads to a state of dehydration followed by an inability of the lever to maintain adequate blood sugar levels. Tomatoes provide two valuable phytochemicals – the flavonoid quercetin and the carotenoid lycopene, which helps in getting the alcohol out and rehydrate your body once again.

ORS

Although prescribed generally for children, the ORS is an excellent source of rehydration. The high concentration of electrolytes in them instantly replenishes the vital minerals that were lost while drinking. Just add a packet of ORS in a 1 liter bottle of pure water and drink it constantly throughout the day.

Poached Eggs

“Egg as alcohol toxin destroyer, you might be kidding?”   Totally get that. But, read on and you will find out their heroic role. Eggs are high in Vitamin B that has been found to  reduce hangover effects. Also, it has high contents of  cysteine, an amino acid that deals with those toxins which your body is not able to break down. Have a breakfast of poached egg and the day will not be as despondent as it generally is.

Asparagus

Now this has been scientifically proven. A Korean study inferred that asparagus extract has the capacity to boost levels of enzymes that enables the body to get rid of toxins. Though the research involved eating it before the hangover sets in, we understand how difficult doing anything of that sort is. Hence, you can go for it the next day and still expect it to help.

And, I believe I don’t have to stress on drinking loads of the good old H20, or do I?
